The Short Lab is a welcoming and safe space for all, and we are committed to providing an inclusive environment for people of all backgrounds. The University of Toronto and the Short Lab are strongly committed to diversity within its community and especially welcomes applications from racialized persons / persons of colour, women, Indigenous / Aboriginal People of North America, persons with disabilities, LGBTQ persons, and others who may contribute to the further diversification of ideas.

The Short lab is recruiting graduate students for fully funded MSc and PhD thesis projects. Generally, prospective graduate students interested in our research opportunities apply to the University of Toronto’s School of Graduate Studies through the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology (EEB). The Short Lab is physically located at the University of Toronto Mississauga, but most graduate students in the Short Lab are part of the tri-campus graduate program in EEB. More information about application requirements, guaranteed funding packages, and other program details can be found here:

The Short Lab also recruits undergraduate student to conduct independent research projects through the University of Toronto Mississauga’s Research Opportunity Program (BIO299, BIO399), and through Biology’s Independent Research Course (BIO481).

Please email Dr. Steven Short (steven dot short at utoronto dot ca) for additional information about these research opportunities.
